Yeah actually it has been mentioned. Think of it as similar to an airport, courthouse, concert, whatever. You only get in through monitored entrances. You're able to go out through numerous alarmed exits. Doesn't violate fire codes at all. Sometimes simplistic comments aren't well thought out.

Anyone thought of fire safety codes this could violate? Sometimes very simplistic solutions aren't well thought out

@britgirl20 what kind of legislation for better checks does the UK have that would have stopped Santa Fe?

Don't mistake me, I don't think to highly of the the Lt. Gov, but there is a legitimate concern in access to schools. If you look at the amount and type of crimes that have been committed in schools over the last 15 years and compare it to the amount and type of crimes committed in airports common sense would argue that the money would be better spent securing schools. Also, despite what anyone may say, "limited controlled entrances, numerous uncontrolled exits" isn't a bad or unrealistic idea. Probably more cost effective in the long term than numerous school safety officers too.

legislation has to change, there's no question of that. They need to implement better checks in order for people to own guns - we do it in the UK, it's not that hard!
