Swept Under the Rug

"...all it will ever take to reinvigorate the inquiring mind’s desire for truth is a leader willing to lift the rug."

The flippant tone the media has taken towards any ethical, and possible criminal, breaches presidential candidate Joe Biden has facilitated regarding the Ukrainian government and his son, acts as an investigative propellant to inquiring minds. The left-wing media machine seems to be falling into the same trap it did during the 2016 election cycle where it desperately attempted to protect the truth about Hillary’s health, wealth and crimes from the American voter—only to be the demise of her campaign and chances at the presidency. The Left’s ravaging hunger to control every aspect of the public’s life, even their thoughts and opinions towards their politicians, has created enmity between themselves and the free thinker. In a perfect world, the news is supposed to be an aid to the free thinker, not a rival.

It is unclear who has given the fourth estate the power to exercise discretion in their reporting. They liberally use this power to give credence to current events that reinforce a particular narrative, yet take part in convenient media blackouts concerning stories of the opposite disposition. And although they vehemently deny partisan bias in their programming, no pun intended, the stories the media machine choose not to cover, or only minimally cover, speak volumes about where they stand politically and ethically—call it a litmus test if you will.

CNN editor, Chris Cillizza, wrote an analysis piece for CNN’s website dated September 23, 2019 entitled, “Donald Trump already admitted everything you need to know about the Ukraine drama.” This is the perfect example of an organization that promotes group think and discourages looking further into complex issues lest a viewer escape the grasp of intellectual consumerism. I responded to this story on my Instagram live feed by saying, “I don’t know about you, but anytime someone tells me ‘there is nothing more you need to worry about’ or ‘nothing to see here’—essentially telling me there is nothing my personal research or observation can further yield… I naturally grow cautious, curious, and intellectually rebellious.” I further stated that ‘anyone suggesting you not look further into complex issues, requesting you to take their narrative at face value, is an enemy to intellectual honesty.”

Before progressing further, I will recap the basics of the untimely scandal former vice-president Joe Biden finds himself in. Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was a board member of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas company, while the company was being investigated by Prosecutor General, Victor Shokin. Hunter was receiving $50,000 a month from the company for his role as a… well, no one really knows. Biden, by his own, and on the record, admission stated that he threatened to withdraw over a billion in loan guarantees to the Ukrainian government if the prosecutor investigating the company that his son was affiliated with was not removed. Six hours later, as Biden proudly states, “well son of a bitch, he was fired.”

No matter how one may look at this scandal, there is a clear conflict of interest and bribery involved for corrupt political purposes. Of course the mainstream media, and Biden himself, state that the reason he made this threat was to ultimately get rid of the corruption in the prosecutors office. Remember the intellectual consumers I was talking about? Well they are the ones who would buy a narrative so ridiculous.

The TRUE SCANDAL, they say, is that President Trump, during a congratulatory call with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, allegedly asked him to look into the unethical request from Biden. This allegation from a nameless and faceless whistle-blower. The President denies any wrong-doing and tripled down on the innocence of his call with Zelensky.

On one hand you have admission of wrong-doing from Democrat, sweetheart, Joe Biden that the media sweeps under the rug as having no ‘there’ there. On the other hand you have an uncorroborated allegation against the President from an unknown whistle-blower, and the media chooses the latter to pursue in hopes that it will bolster calls for impeachment. Time and time again we see the media willfully ignoring true perversions of justice while focusing only on events that contribute circumstantial evidence at best. When Devin Nunes called out the unconstitutional spying on private American citizens and the unmasking of American citizens through the FISA courts, the media decided to focus on why he did not go through the proper channels in making that information public.

We do indeed live in a clown world.

This bizarre stint of willful ignorance does not only plague the American media machine, but also the Canadian left-wing, statist, media. The same media and politicians that vigorously demand the resignation of political opponents for racial insensitivity and alleged sexual misconduct bashfully look the other way when those they are devoted to protecting are condemned with these blasphemous crimes. Globalist and ultra-progressive Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, is an example of such hypocrisy. The same man that castigated a woman at a town hall event for asking a question about Canada’s policy on immigration and the unfettered entry of thousands upon thousands of refugees, claimed ignorance when asked about the videos and photos of him disguised in ‘blackface.’ The same goes for Ralph Northam, Governor of Virginia, when photos surfaced of him in ‘blackface.’ The media brushes these stories under the rug and justify them with intensity lest they lose any political real estate. Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada, was spot on when he stated that Justin is not a racist, just a hypocrite.

The good book gives prescient warning in Isaiah 5:20 (NKVJ) in stating:

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

We are witnessing a time in history, that seemingly comes in cycles, where the lines between objective wrong are blurred by misplaced and misjudged subjectivity. The media has shown its hand. In desperate attempts to discredit the arbiter of Nationalism, they have exposed their jugular. By trying to re-litigate and re-investigate that which has been dealt with, while ignoring that which blares corruption, they only prove the extent of their depravity. Poor journalistic standards as a result of politicizing the hub from which global events are disseminated to the public has only strengthened the resolve of the 45th President. The baptism with fire that the media has put President Trump through only makes him sharper, more cautious, and most determined to prove why he will go down in history as one of the most important Presidents in American history. The media can continue to sweep stories critical of their icons under the rug, they can continue to take part in obtaining total control of access and the transfer of information via big tech, and they can continue to expose their true motives—but all it will ever take to reinvigorate the inquiring mind’s desire for truth is a leader willing to lift the rug.
