The Girl Generation is an Africa-led global collective of members and partners brought together by a shared vision that female genital mutilation (FGM) can – and must – end in this generation. It is a platform for accelerating social change, bringing together hundreds and thousands of voices under one positive identity, which challenges the social norms that hold FGM in place.
Working with grassroots organisations The Girl Generations seeks to achieve their aims by contributing to the growth of the Africa-led movement to end FGM, by strengthening social change communications, sharing inspirational stories of change, and leveraging resources.
Magool founder Leyla Hussein is the Global Ambassador for The Girl Generation and has seen first hand that through collaborative efforts positive change is happening. Across the African continent and beyond, people are coming together to abandon this form of violence against women and girls.
