Magool founder Leyla Hussein was honoured to be invited to speak at the recent Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF) in Johannesburg. This was the first OFF to be held in Africa and had very special meaning to Leyla whose family was forced to flee Somalia as a child. The event brings together Human Rights activists from across the world to exchange stories and begin exciting collaborations to progress equality and freedom.
In this talk Leyla shares about her work to end the harmful practice of female genital mutilation and explains why we should all be outraged that this global crime is being committed on our girls. Instead, we should be protecting, educating and investing in our girls.
