Suffrage Wall Celebrates 100 Years of Women Voting in the UK

Louise Robertson

The Women in the Humanities (WiH) research programme at Oxford University have launched a new website including a Suffrage Wall to celebrate the centenary of some women first securing the right to vote in the UK. The Suffrage Wall features women from around the UK who represent a variety of occupations from within the Arts, Business, Education, Politics, Science and Sport inclduing Magool founder Leyla Hussein. They were were invited by WiH to become suffrage champions, making a powerful statement about women's achievements and the continuing need to challenge barriers to gender equality one hundred years since women were first enfranchised.

You visit the wall at the WiH website and please do take a look at Leyla's contribution to it.
