The 85th Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland Conference which will take place in Bournemouth from 24th to 26th October 2019, is a time to listen to inspiring speakers engaged in supporting women and girls to become the best they can be.
The theme this year is “Think on it” which focuses on wellbeing and the mental health of the women and girls. Many women and girls experience adverse life experiences, for example, as a result of domestic violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, imprisonment and trafficking or have mental health issues related to anorexia, self-harm, post-natal depression or dementia.
Dr Leyla Hussein will speak on Saturday 26 October on her own experience in raising awareness on female genital mutilation and supporting the wellbeing of others.
