HRF to Nelly: Drop men-only concert in dictatorial Saudi Arabia

On December 14, 2017, Nelly is scheduled to take part in a men-only concert sponsored by the Saudi dictatorship’s General Authority for Entertainment.

HRF calls on Nelly to cancel his concert in Saudi Arabia, and to instead call on King Salman to free the brave human rights lawyer Waleed Abulkhair and liberal blogger Raif Badawi.

HRF recently was engaged in an advocacy campaign on behalf of Waleed Abulkhair.

Learn more about Waleed Abulkhair in an in-depth legal report and in this Washington Post op-ed by HRF.

What if he performs in China? Not in Saudi Arabia, what then? Is it a dictatorship as well? What if he performs in the USA? Will HFR encourage him to cancel the concert? If no, it indicates double standards... Because secret CIA custodies, total surveillance on almost the whole planet, including their allies, Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, all these are the USA, not Saudi Arabia.

To that end, how the Saudi people are any worse that people in the USA?
