The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP by clicking here.

CFF at Stanford is a joint initiative of HRF, Stanford STAND, CS+Social Good, and the Stanford Korean Students Association. The one-evening event will feature five talks followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Speakers include Ugandan LGBT rights activist Kasha Jacqueline, Iranian author and former political prisoner Marina Nemat, Egyptian activist and entrepreneur Wael Ghonim, Chinese human rights advocate Ti-Anna Wang, and Wickr founder and security expert Nico Sell.

Jacqueline, the director of Freedom and Roam Uganda (FARUG), will share how she is challenging her government’s repressive and homophobic legal system; Nemat, author of “Prisoner of Tehran,” will share her story of survival after she was jailed at age 16 for criticizing the Iranian regime; Ghonim, the founder of social media site Parlio, will discuss new opportunities in digital activism; Wang, the daughter of Chinese political prisoner Wang Bingzhang, will describe her international campaign to free her father; and Sell, a DEFCON organizer, will talk about her work championing private communications and free expression as the CEO of the Wickr Foundation.

Doors open at 6:30pm, with talks beginning at 7:00pm. Join the conversation on Facebook and stay-up-date on Twitter by following @HRF and using #CFF.

CFF seeks to bring the experience of HRF’s annual human rights summit, the Oslo Freedom Forum (OFF), to a college and university audience. At OFF, HRF unites dissidents, business leaders, media, technologists, artists, philanthropists, and policymakers to focus on making the world a more peaceful, prosperous, and free place.

The Human Rights Foundation is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that promotes and protects human rights globally, with a focus on closed societies.
