The IDEA Jack LaLanne Award was created in 2011 and was awarded posthumously to Jack LaLanne in its inaugural year. Previous recipients include actress Jane Fonda; Tony Horton, creator of P90X®; Alberto “Beto” Perez, the creator of Zumba®; long-distance swimming champion Diana Nyad; longtime broadcast journalist and personal trainer Jenna Wolfe; and Todd Durkin, elite trainer to NFL MVPs.

“To describe Chris and Heidi Powell of ABC’s hit show, Extreme Weight Loss, [you just need] two words: “Dynamic Duo,” says Elaine LaLanne, Jack’s wife and president and chief executive officer of BeFit Enterprises and jacklalanne.com. “They are carrying on with the same desire as my husband Jack by inspiring people to transform their lives to be physically and mentally healthy. They remind me of how Jack and I worked together as a team for over 50 years.”
