As some of you already know, I am fostering a rescued baby elephant at the The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) in Nairobi, Kenya. His name is Musiara. I met him for the first time this past October, prior to departing for my Conservancy Safari, and it was one of the most beautiful and heartwarming experiences I've had.
I just received an update from the Executive Director and "Musiara is doing great and he’s an increasingly confident young bull, as evidenced by his more recent desire to charge at Kiko the giraffe whenever he sees him – he’s decided he doesn’t want Kiko to be part of the elephant herd! Obviously he is still on the small side, so Kiko tends not to take much notice!" :)
To foster a baby elephants is VERY EASY and it is such a lovely, unusual and impactful present to give!
