With panoramic views over the Samangua Valley and the Lewa Plains to the Ngare Ndare Forest and Mount Kenya beyond, The Lodge offers eight romantic and unique cottages, each with an open fireplace and private veranda. The Lodge is designed to work in harmony with the landscape and is created from local, sustainable building materials. It enjoys an idyllic setting,
17 miles north of the equator and 6,000 feet above sea level. The nights are cool and free from the malaria mosquito.
Driven safaris, mountain biking, cooking and baking with chefs, visits to the local community schools when class is in session, fishing, and swimming are all options, as are adventures by helicopter, on foot or horseback.
BORANA CONSERVANCY: A POSITIVE IMPACT
The Borana Conservancy is a non-profit conservation organisation dedicated to the sustainable conservation of critical habitat and wildlife. Our mission is to provide a sustainable ecosystem, in partnership with our neighbors and community, for critically endangered species on the brink of extinction.
Borana has assisted the funding, development, marketing and management of community-owned conservation initiatives like Tassia, Oreteti and Il N’gwesi – ensuring that people are now protecting their own wilderness areas. With this, livelihoods are now changing as a result of wildlife and wilderness, rather than despite it. For additional info, please click below:
