Bella Nshimirimana: Uganda's Woman Refugee of the Year

Bella Nshimirimana is Uganda's 2017 refugee woman of the year. The prestigious prize, awarded by the Finnish Refugee Council and the UNHCR, recognizes her extraordinary work in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

Nshimirirmana, 28 years old and from Burundi, helps other refugees translate at hospitals, and has set up a dance troupe which brings together Ugandans and refugees. A film by Grainne Harrington.
