These turbines harness the energy from the Ocean waves, while protecting the coastline from erosion. Japanese scientists have been developing the turbines.
They will be anchored to the sea with cables and attached to magnet electric generators. These generators would funnel energy back to the mainland to power national grids. The turbines would be placed right in the middle of the cresting waves, so they can lesson the impact on coasts.
The turbines are still theoretical for now but researchers are working on installing scale models soon.
