Volunteering on conservation projects isn't just great for the earth, it also helps your mental health.

A recent study followed a group of people before and after they started volunteering with the Wildlife Trusts. Two-thirds of the volunteers an improved well-being after six weeks of work. Some participants said it even helped their depression.

Researchers think nature could be prescribed as a therapeutic treatment. They are still studying the effects, but volunteering in nature appears to be a mutually beneficial exercise.
