Edible Rings on Six Packs Feed Marine Life If They End Up in The Ocean

These edible six-pack rings are designed to protect marine life from getting snared in them.

The plastic rings on six-packs often end up in oceans. Turtles, birds and other marine life often get trapped in the rings or eat them and die.

Saltwater Brewery has developed a safe solution. Edible six-pack rings feed, rather than harm, ocean life. The rings are made of barley and wheat. They're completely safe for humans and animals to eat. The rings are biodegradable and compostable, too.

Saltwater says it's rings work just as well as plastic ones. They're more expensive to produce, but brewery hopes customers will pay a little extra to support and save marine life.
