USA Today's 'Exploited': Article Series about Sex Trafficking

USA Today plans to run a 10 part series exposing research and real stories of trauma that accompany sex trafficking.

The first part of the series is an article titled "Who buys a trafficked child for sex? Otherwise ordinary men." Written by Tim Swarens, the article touches briefly on several different issues it plans to cover throughout the series: the startling lack of convictions among "Johns" or sex-buyers, the role of Backpage in child trafficking, the difficulties of prosecuting people who commit sex crimes abroad, the disturbingly large suburban demographic of sex-buyers, and the personal impacts to victims.
