Sunitha Krishnan: The Fight Against Sex Slavery
The fight against sex slavery
Sunitha Krishnan has dedicated her life to rescuing women and children from sex slavery, a multimilion-dollar global market. In this courageous talk, she tells three powerful stories, as well as her own, and calls for a more humane approach to helping these young victims rebuild their lives.
Krishnan has rescued over 3,000 women and children over her career. She sees an intense need to move beyond the fashionable conversation of Human Sex Trafficking and into real change. It's alright to discuss the stories of survivors of sex slavery but what survivors really need is a space to reintegrate into society. She says, "Survivors need your compassion, empathy, and more than anything else, your acceptance."
