Remember Election night 2016 when the media replayed countless video loops of tearful older feminists and their balding, ponytailed life partners watch Hillary speak to the nation? Remember when the punditry mentioned (all 12,641 times) the “historic moment” when we witnessed the first female ascend to Presidency? The dream was now a reality (of course, no offense meant toward Margaret Thatcher, Teresa May, Golda Meir, Angela Merkel, and the many others that came before).
Do you also remember how quickly Hillary’s election night shock-face (OMG Balloooons!?!) contorted back to her smug and superior ‘the cat who ate the country’ look as she yelled and cackled her way through her acceptance speech?
And then, remember how almost immediately things got so bad for the mainstream media’s chosen Empress/darling candidate?
Her honeymoon was the shortest of any President in modern times.
Now as President Clinton’s administration is suffocating under an avalanche of Congressional investigations that even Democrats believe will lead to impeachment hearings, we can look back and see how we arrived at this likely constitutional crisis.
First, there was the whole unlikable thing. Hillary entered the Oval Office with unlikable ratings just slight less than hipsters, cockroaches and that 877-Kars4Kids jingle. She won a Presidential election no one wanted nor felt good about. Technically, Hillary beat an even more unlikable candidate in Donald Trump, but in reality she was dragged across the finish line by the legacy minded Obama administration that put their thumb on the scales of justice at the FBI. It was also evident she was lifted and protected by an activist, highly partisan media whose actions required Bernard Goldberg to write yet another book about bias titled ‘Media Blackout’. But now, even those same journalist acolytes don’t want to hear her drone on and recent polls suggest almost 8 out of 10 people not only dislike her, but don’t believe a word she utters.
Second, the 2016 media warehoused politically damaging proof about the State Department/Clinton Foundation corruption at the same storage location of the Lost Ark. Almost immediately after the election was called, in an about-face (possibly to save face), the New York Times, Washington Post and the alphabet networks diligently reported their ‘Clinton investigations’ on a seemingly daily basis. The countless stories about the Clinton Foundation influencing and directing multi-million dollar deals from Russia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Haiti, India, Colombia and the Congo were once just water cooler conversation at Conservative websites.
Now mainstream reports prove Hillary’s State Department approved deals in pay-to-play schemes that brought in billions to her “charitable” foundation while enriching herself and ensuring her great, great, great grandchildren would never have to work. Stories once deftly deflected by the Hillary campaign and a sympathetic media are now ubiquitous. Recent polls show 73% of the American people believe the reports that her financial gain of at least $153 million in speaking fees, with more than $2 billion to her families foundation were the direct result of Hillary Clinton selling out the national security of the United States. History is littered with lesser crimes leading to incarceration and even execution of those found guilty.
Her supporters and media pundits are now distancing themselves by openly admitting they knew her corruption would come home to roost, but justify their pre-election advocacy stating “With Trump as her opponent, what choice did we have?”
Now Hillary’s Administration is starting to fight back the media narrative of potential impeachment hearings. Hillary’s Press Secretary Brian Fallon’s stunning announcement will be parsed for days.
Said Fallon: “In regards to the media’s and political chatter regarding whether Congressional investigations may lead to Impeachment, it’s important to remember there was no previous criminal conviction or finding or any wrongdoing by the FBI back in 2016.”
Fallon continued: “The Constitution states: The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors suggests impeachment may be used against a president only when alleged crimes occurred during their presidency. Of course, all these investigations are regarding matters that occurred well before President Clinton entered the White House.”
In response, constitutional lawyers are lining up on the nightly cable shows opining on the relevance of statute of limitations. The legal experts mostly seem to agree that Hillary’s inauguration did in fact occur within the required time period of the investigations of her alleged crimes. Therefore Congress has the responsibility to determine whether Hillary’s actions rise to the level of committing acts that are consistent with threatening national security.
With clearly overwhelming evidence weighing down President Clinton, impeachment is expected soon, and it is unlikely she will receive the same favorable treatment as her husband, whose latest statements won’t help either. Said Bill Clinton "I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: Hillary. Did. Not. Have. Illegal. Relations. With those countries. She never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And she needs to go back to work for the American people. Thank you."
